Public houses

The Public House (Pub) was the cornerstone of the town - acting in kind as the Restaurant, the Saloon, the Post Office, the banker, and on occasion, even the barracks and the mortuary.

If Adelaide’s the town of Churches, it’s undoubtedly the City of Pubs -- with over 70 within the city terraces. This density of active historic hotels is unseen anywhere else in Australia.
